Disclaimer

Your kitchen is not the test kitchen

Each recipe is tested and written to be followed exactly, but your oven, your stove, your altitude, and your ingredients are not identical to the ones used during testing. The listed times and quantities are a reliable starting point — not a guarantee of an identical result every time.

Food safety stays on you

Recipes with raw meat, poultry, eggs, dairy, or deep frying carry food-safety notes: safe internal temperatures, safe storage windows. Those notes are accurate and offered in good faith, but the actual handling is your job — confirm ingredients are fresh, cook meat and poultry to a safe internal temperature, and throw out anything that seems off.

One thing this site never endorses: unsafe oil reuse. That means no reheating oil past its smoke point repeatedly, no mixing old oil into fresh indefinitely, and no storing used oil carelessly.

Not a substitute for medical advice

Nothing here is medical, dietary, or nutritional guidance. There are no calorie counts published on this site, and no ingredient is described as treating, preventing, or curing a medical condition. Got a food allergy, an intolerance, or a diet-sensitive condition? Check with a professional and read labels before you cook, every time.

History has gaps

Origin and regional claims are researched with care, but oral food history is sometimes incomplete or contested by design. When a claim is uncertain, the goal is to say so directly instead of smoothing it into a tidy fact.
